How did you find BenHeck Forums?
Moderator: Moderators
I was just searching for pics of a SNES in google images and i noticed a handheld one. i was very interested i opened the picture and that took me to benheck.com later that day i stumbled across the forums but didnt register til i looked at some of Life of Brians work. i just wanted to be able to comment on his work. but i had problems for two weeks because apparently benheck forums don't like hotmail email address. so i finally tried using my home email account n boom it worked straight away. of course by then i couldnt find LoB's work and couldn't comment on it

IDK how I found this place, but ever sense that day it has been a little worse here.

I think I found this site because of this site: http://nestable.classicgaming.gamespy.com/p64.shtml#
I think I was searching "How to make a Portable TV" of all things when I came across that site.

I knew Ben because my uncle was in Adventure

Sometime around March 2006, I was reading a (VERY Nintendo-fanboy laden
) thread somewhere with the topic of something along the lines of "what will you do with your gamecube when revolution [wii] comes out?" Someone posted "I think I'll portablize it, like I did with my N64." Intrigued by the concept, I googled up a storm about portable N64's, eventually finding Ben's site, and later the forums. I lurked for a few months, and then registered.
I still hope to make an N64p at some point, but I've never gotten around to it.

Same here. I thought that guy was the first to do something like that... then I saw Ben's portable 2600 on ClassicGaming. Who here remembers the URL "www.classicgaming.com/vcsp"?wallydawg wrote:I signed up at POD before this existed but I don't remember how I found it, I think because of this http://nestable.classicgaming.gamespy.com/
I thought I knew what you were talking about up until the reader mail thumbnail statement. Not long after I heard of Ben, I saw his full-page article in the December 2003 issue of EGM; the very first issue I ever received... which is kinda strange, now that I think about it...wallydawg wrote:I did see Bens first psonep in a gaming magazine a long time ago as well now that I think about it but I didn't realize that until just now haha. I think it was in the reader mail section and they showed a thumbnail pic, wouldn't be able to tell you which mag it was though.

I searched google for "homemade video game consoles" It led to the old geocities site which had a link to the vcsp site. I lurked for a while and was too nervous to join the forum. When the new site was created I decided to join. Best internet decision ever.

I think the issue came out in springtime-ish as I want to think I remember seeing easter decorations in the next aisle (reading gaming mags/comics in the grocery while parents check out; national pastime). It definitely wasn't a full page article as it was only one photo of the psonep, and I'm sure it was in the reader mail section as someone else asked about one-handed controllers, which is kind of interesting because Ben is into that racket now as well.Electric Rain wrote: I thought I knew what you were talking about up until the reader mail thumbnail statement. This leads me to assume that Ben is taking life tips from the write-in section of an old gaming mag. I'm sure someone had a letter about making movies that month too haha.
