Do they just work sometimes or with certain applications? That sucks...

Don't worry about it. It's exactly the same as a Sony card, maybe a little slower. But otherwise, it's the same.

actually no, on psp-hacks.com they report that some cards can't run certain programs, or plugins, this card and the sandisk happen to be two of them.

Link, please? I used a card from DealExtreme to put custom firmware on a friend's PSP and it worked just fine.

well, the memory stick should work fine for most things but they say that once in a while they have problems running somehomebrew from it. and ctfan could you put your stick in your psp and check what it says under memory stick settings? if it says magicgate unkown its a fake and if it says magicgate supported well, then i was wrong

The slow speeds, and odd space after formatting shows the DealExtreme version to be a fake, not witholding the fact that they open up *the packaging, and black out the Sony or Sandisk logo at the front top of the packaging before sending them out (using magic marker, from its' looks, too).

And yes, I have bought the 2GB MS + Pandora's from them. Notice too, on their own forums the debate that was going on about if it was A Legit MS or not. DealExtreme has neither confirmed nor denied it, which is in and of itself, an odd position to be in.

As long at the battery works, I'm not too concerned. I have already turned my memory stick Magic, so it's ready. I really, really hope the battery comes tomorrow so I can use it!

You can actually put m33 cfw on a slim without using your friend's psp. Since you have a pandora and an extra memory stick you're good to go. Well, you also need a card reader OR a USB A to USB B cable. Using the cable you can put your psp into usb mode from the XMB and act as a card reader.

Yeah, I'm not going to use my friend's PSP. I found this tutorial that I used to turn my memory stick magic, like I already said. And now I'm just waiting for the battery to come and unlock my PSP to a whole new world of games.

Alright...my battery is here, along with the 4gb Memory Stick. But now I need to figure out how to install the firmware, because the tutorial that I posted a link to above didn't work.
