Exactly, that's the same point I have been making for a while now. It is the taking part that is important, the satisfaction that you have made the best you can and praise of your peers (rather than just "winning"); hence why this is a friendly competition (a bit like the English aristocracy used to say, "Jolly good show, what"); a community spirit.

Thats why you two are my favorite portablizers: you understand portablizing(then Ctfan, then triton, then Sifuf...uhh....some others.) Down with F42! Up with News! But seriously, out of all of the benheck community, how many portablizers do we have? Not many, thats for sure. But we do have some people who could get out there and do it.

Seeing the other entrys, and knowing that I am up against some of the best gurantees that I wont win !st place, but I'm still entering my n64 portable anyway.

The contest is epic anyways because so many portables are being made at once, and at the same time we will get to see them all at once.

My case is done!

I have to work tonight, but I plan on staying up late and finishing the electronics once I get home. I'm going to take this bad boy to the Oklahoma Video Game Exhibition (OVGE) tomorrow. 8)

There is no turning back for me now. I just bumped the Namco Portable thread. Added some some small updates and such. I guess I'm now committed to ride this thing to the end. Here's hoping the Namco gets done.
And if anyone you don't know the link to my Portable's thread. It's in my sig.

@Plamertech: Get me a little bit longer on that screen you offered me please.

No problem nightwheel, will do.

My portable is coming along nicely. Redoing part of the case, though. :(

Well if someone will trade me a SuperJoy 3 for a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate, I promise to have a kick-ass portable entered! 8)

Oh noes!
Well, my dad has decided to start off my school year(a week early) on an earn it back basis, so I wont be here often anymore. And I wont be able to work on my project entry. But all I have left to do is touch up the joystick area, cover the speaker holes, and flatten the bottom of the cartridge slot.

So, this is my entry unless I can somehow get my portable back before the completion date and touch it up.

I have had the worst luck with work time on this project entry. I hope you can all understand just how flawlessly good it would look with the speaker, joystick, screen and bottom of the cartridge slot covers.

 I may not even get to see the results of the contest.

Anyways, I had fun building this unit, and I look forward to congratulating the person whoever's portable wins! :)

When you go to put the entry's up, please write under mine: Was not able to complete cosmetics due to unforseen circumstances, please do not judge on unfinished features.

I will post a finished topic in the news whenever I am done with cosmetics. I am very sad that I am not able to make it look best for you guys before the contest voting.

Use this as my thumbnail for the vote! :P

SS that is probably the best one you have made so far. Looking forward to seeing it completed someday.

SS - Yes, needs work done but definitely your best to date.

Pity your parents aren't more understanding and at least let you keep working on the compo until the end of the month. I think that was mean of them to stop you.

Anyway mate, thanks for the compliment (on your pic).

Video was quite good, especially the first and last seconds of it!

One comment: rather than using normal switches, how about using rubber contact switches (nice mushy feel).
