Custom case, instead of custom Xbox 360 / PS3

Post by PlaysInABox »

Hello fellow modders. I am new to the modding game, so my first project was to customize a case, not a console. I did this for my own benefit, but constant encouragement from peers pushed me to put it on the web (<a href="http://www.videogamecase.com">www.VideoGameCase.com</a>). I know there are people out there who need gaming portablity but have no clue how to mod anything. I'm playing with the idea of providing it to them. I would like to hear input from the modding community. What do you think?

thats great! but at the same time thats terrible! your saving a lot of decent systems from anhilation, but your creating noob "modders" that run around claiming their "master modders" i have mixed feelings about that

Thanks for the input guys.

minnesotamoder - Regarding the noob comment: I have no control over what idiots do, especially if they go around claiming that they created something that they did not. Also, I am not actually selling this to anyone, and may never do, so I wouldn't worry about an influx of posers in the near future.

Gordon1 - Sorry about the picture, it seems my web server has gone down for some reason. Also, I assure you this is not a scam. I'm just an honest entrepreneur hoping for some positive feedback on one of my favorite projects.

So, to you all, thanks for looking.

So you're an entrepreneur that doesn't want to sell his product?

It's a great idea, and a great product. With a finalized product, for the right price and with the right amount of advertising, you could make quite a bit of money.

What's the music title of the video?

I would say to get a higher res display and widescreen.

1024x768 isn't widescreen.

Valium, believe me, it's not that I do not wish to sell this product. The harsh reality is that it takes a large amount of overhead to get something like this into mass production; and small-scale production is at the mercy of my budget, time, and the market. As Aguiluz pointed out it is not widescreen. I chose a 15 inch 4:3 HDTV because it gave the best picture in the most efficient use of space. Since then the market has completed it's shift to widescreen; it's practically at the point where you can't buy a 4:3 flat panel. I'm not complaining; I like widescreen as much as the next guy, but it will require a completely new prototype to support the new dimensions of even the smallest widescreen.

Thanks again for the input!

P.S. Aguiluz, it is Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On

why hasn't anyone jumped down his throat about a large avatar? I set mine took a shower, came back, and I had 2 posts about it and 3 private messages.

Perhaps it is because this pic is coming from my web server, not the forum's.

If you sell these, you should probably have different sizes for different systems. Someone with a wii isn't gonna wanna lug around a giant box meant for a 360 or PS3

FYI, he can't make the cases anymore because the screen has been discontinued. I emailed him asking for prices.

Yea, I guess that I really screwed up my avatar, I just copied it right off of my cousins facebook, thinking that it would auto-downsize. And I think that the pixels were like 540x580
