What's wrong with my new game!?

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

What's wrong with my new game!?

Post by ZN13 »

I just got Gears of War for computer, and i installed it (of course). But When I try to run it, it says "xlive.dll not found". I uninstalled/reinstalled and the same thing happened. I googled xlive.dll and found one and put it in the binaries folder. The message changed to "...xlive.dll is not a valid Windows image." What's wrong? How do I fix this?

Probably way off base here, but I'd recommend updating your DirectX drivers to the latest available version. I imagine that with an advanced game like Gears of War, you're going to need the most recent version you can find.

Do you have any virtual drives running on your computer?(power iso deamon tools) Because I had a problem with a Games for Windows Live game where it wouldn't run because of that.

Lol, try installing it  . I found a file called "Xliveredist" or something like that, and it worked. Thanks Microsoft for making a great installer
