I've heard (and read a little) about there being an A/V out mod for the game gear. The one I saw was for a PAL game gear (apparently, because it went to a SCART connector) and I'm wondering if:
A) there is an NTSC Red/White/Yellow A/V mod
B) if there is a more simple/direct way to do it by sacrificing the functionality of the built in screen (the one I read about had the screen and TV play at the same time, which I would assume would take more sophisticated wiring)
The one I looked at seemed very complicated, but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that SCART connectors use 21 pins (though I could be wrong since I know nothing about Europe A/V standards)
At any rate, Game Gears are cheap to come by and I have 2 already* and I've been wanting a way to play Game Gear on a TV rather than the archaic, dim, and blurry Game Gear screen. If only Sega had made a Super Game Gear, it would've been a lot more worthwhile than that god awful Super Game Boy.
*I thought the controls were messed up so my mom bought me another, turns out it was because she had me keep my instructions in the carry case and it pushed my game gear up so that it was always mashing down the "left" and "2" buttons and making them stick.

Re: Game Gear A/V outs
the hardest part would be tracking down a good condition/working original game gear without the copyright screen (which is apparently required here). The rest just seems to require a lot of precise soldering skills and time. I mean, he's already done all the hard work of sorting it all out, its just a matter of time and solder to duplicate it. That said, I think its easier just to track down an emulator for dreamcast or something and burn it on a disc and be done.nightwheel wrote:Are you talking about this mod: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chri ... ggrgb.html
