I have some awesome ideas on what I wan't to do with my portable. And I have around $81 to do it. Found a screen I might get. But I'm hoping I can find a cheaper screen though.

Quite a mighty tempthing deal there palmertech. I'm at a friends house right now. So let me think about it for a little. And I got to run it by the heads of the house hold at home.

Yeah, well mine's done, I turned my Atari Lynx into a PS3 portable that also doubles as a panini press and a back massager. Beat that! :D

Sorry, I just felt so left out... :(

I could send you a Plug n Play if you don't have a system to portablelize. I got a few laying around.

What if I recased a ds, relocated the buttons, installed a new screen, and ran it off of AA's?

I'm ready.

New screen as in a replacement DS screen, or a better screen? The latter is impossible.

Also, running the DS of AA batteries is impractical. The DS will not power on without the li-ion cell present and in nominal voltage condition. And while you could use the charge port, the power loss is immense. I would get a better li-ion cell and call it a day, that is all you can really do.

As far as your battery statement, it's not too impractical. Especially with regulators.

Yeah, I mean a replacement top screen. Because I got one.

I'd love to mod the ds, but I'm still considering just buying a replacement case too.
