battery acid sigh....

Just wondering what you guys would do to clean some up. My motherboard battery began to leak and some of it has gotten on the battery terminals etc. What should i do?

I've used baking soda paste with good results before. I make it thick so it doesn't drip. Coca cola works very well, but if the terminals are attached to the board, it might be bad. Steel wool can also work, but make DANG sure you get every last atom of metal out before you add power again. Those steel wool brushes that look like tooth brushes are nice, too.

mix some baking soda and water together and scrub with a tooth brush. Get all the acid you can. Rinse with +90% rubbing alcohol.

Umm arent most batteries actually alkaline?

Im pretty sure "battery acid" is one of those incorrect things people say just because they are used to saying it.

Anyways, personally I wouldn't want to smother my board with more conductive liquid. Just make sure you get it really dry.
