Need a Bit of Help with My Screen for My SNESp...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Need a Bit of Help with My Screen for My SNESp...

Post by Ampersand »

I'm a bit confused. I have an LCD screen that accepts composite input. But I am making an SNESp, and it doesn't have composite input... it has the sort of cable input dealie. Could anyone explain to me how this will work?

Thanks,

There's pins on that connector that each do something. Left audio, right audio, video out. There's pinouts all over the place here, find one, and that will tell you what pins to solder to. Just the same, there's places on the screen to solder to. I could help you better with a pic.

No offense, and very off topic, but the OP might want to start using normal colored text. Some people get ticked by people that think that they are so special that they can make their posts jump out with bright colors. ;)

What does it matter? For reals, it's readable, what more do you want?

I don't really care. I am just giving him a friendly warning, I got flamed for colored text on another forum once.

And BTW, your text is very hard to see.;) Dark red is not so bad, as apposed to when I got flamed for using screaming orange! :D

Alright, alright, I get it! I was just trying to help him out, did no one see my winky face? I was very nice about it, I did not berate him, just gave him a friendly hint.

On topic, do you have an N64 AV cable? Or a gamecube one? Try that out, they use the same cable.

Your "cable input dealie" is an RF connector. You need an a/v cable, plugs into the port beside it. N64s and Gamecubes use the same cable.

Also, if you're making a portable, why do you need any cables at all? You should be soldering straight to the board.
