GBMicro issues....

Is there a way to bypass that smaller board in the GBMicro that has the d-pad contacts and on/off switch on it? Like, are there places I can tap into on the main board for those functions? The ribbon cable between those two boards broke, and I have no way to fix that. Those traces are way too small to repair by soldering on jumper wires. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

YOu could probably just buy one on ebay for about $10. a brand new micro or gba

Well, it has to be a Micro, and I've yet to see one go for less than $60 shipped on e-Bay. At the moment, I'm pretty hard up financially, and I don't have $10 for beer, let alone $60 for another GBMicro.

If it can't be fixed, it can't be, and the project will be abandoned. I just wanted to exhaust the possibility.

I hate to bump this before the full 24 hours, but I found a schematic on-line.

Here it is.

I don't understand these things very well at all. Could someone who reads these please look it over and tell me if I can solder leads on the main mobo and do without the d-pad board? Thanks.

This is a 200% scan. I don't know where that bit of ribbon cable ended up, but it connects the board on the left to the main one. All the wires on the button pads were functional up until the cable went.

I believe that schematic is for the Gameboy color, or the original Gameboy.
You're going to have to find the schematics for the Gameboy Micro before we can help.
