I've been looking at the 360 laptop for a while and desided im going to do it...

only one problem...

not enough money to buy a new xbox 360 for moding...any1 know where to find cheap used(working) xbox 360s

If you don't have the money for a 360, do you really think you'll have the money for the rest of the components?

There's no reason to spend more on parts than you have to, and asking if anybody has some leads on cheap 360's is a fair question in my opinion.

you can always check out ebay or buy a used one from gamestop. You may or may not have luck on ebay since prices tend to rocket up once the auction almost ends.

Don't forget about broken ones on ebay, as long you can figure out whats wrong with them. You may be about to combine two to get a functioning one for a lot less.

Gamestop has refurbished Premiums for around $260. If that is too rich, then you are just going to try to get lucky with ebay or craigslist.
