hey guys, a tiny update, i found that i will use some subc cells for this project rated at 4.2Ah which should hold up quite a while.. i was wondering how this will work though because added up they amount to 8.4v and after an hour or so will the batteries voltage drop?? because then the screen will most likely stop functioning (it requires 8.5v in the first place)

please advise as i am ignorant to this topic.

After 2 years, I have returned! And found my collection which has been recently padded by friends and family. I have a gen1 board and a gen2 board along with a couple of screens. I still have my batteries and most of my project pieces except the prototype and other insignificants (i moved), and still have my busted cut down gen1 board from the first attempt.

I am happy to say that this will be a slowly revived project and should be finished by end june? (i go away next week all the way thru mid june) Really the only thing holding me back from finishing it is time, as with 2 years since my first portabilizing attempt, I know hold more electronics wisdom and experience (thank god for honors physics)!

I will be redesigning a case for this, and am back on track. I also dug out an atari 2600 with over 60 games, so stay tuned for that! (I'm hoping to take on a snes or nes too... daunting for someone with so little time I know.)

Glad to be back,
Phantom
