PSP Homebrew For N00bs.

Alright...I bought a PSP today (the Daxter pack with a Silver PSP, 1GB Memory stick, Daxter, and Family Guy) and am currently borrowing a friend's (Phat) PSP. I'm a total n00b to PSP Homebrew and am looking for any help I can get! Thanks!

I did read those. But I've read some places that you can do a Pandora's Battery without taking it apart. This would be really helpful for me because I don't have any soldering tools and don't want to take the battery apart if I don't need to.

I've also heard that a Pandora's Battery can change your firmware to any version, does anybody know how to do this?

Ok, I purchased a Pandora Battery and 4gb Memory Stick and will be waiting for that to come.

After it gets here, I should be able to figure this out based on the instructions I've read/seen.

If the Magic Stick is prepped properly, All you need to do is:

1. Hold down the "L" trigger.

2. A menu pops up.

3. Follow instructions.

They're not allowed to sell the magic memory stick. You'll have to Google it and put it on the card yourself.

How come?

I was planning on making it "Magic" myself anyways. While I wait for the battery to come, could I put homebrew on my friend's Phat PSP, or do I need the battery for that too?

It's in the same category as modchips and the like, since it enables you to play back-ups.

Does the other Psp have custom firmware on it? If not, what official firmware version is it?

My friend's (Phat) PSP: OFW 2.82
My (Slim) PSP: OFW 3.72

By the way, you can't make all PSPs downgrade. Myself, I have a ta-082 or whatever the 'scene' calls this particular board. While I can downgrade it from the latest official flash, I've also read just about everywhere that it can only be flashed 'down' so far. IIRC, slims are the same way, but you might want to run an internet search and read over what the main opinion/facts/whatever are, just so you know the limitations yourself.

I'm not concerned about downgrading anymore, I thought that you had to be a certain version for the custom firmware, but you don't; so it doesn't matter.

you know thats not actually a sony memory stick right?:oops: its a fake so you might have troubles running some programs from it.
