I have looked around to see if there was a similar thread to this, and if there is, I apologise for not looking round enough.
Basically, I have a PAL Tristar, which works fine on my PAL SNES.
However, I recently bought a Datach Joint ROM device, which is designed to sit on top of a Famicom and play it's own games.
The problem I have is that the DJR sits just a few mm above the 16-bit slot of the Tristar, so it's impossible to get working without stripping everything out of the cases.
I plan to get around the problem by making the Tristar into a stand-alone 8-bit unit. I believe I have found the correct pin-out for the 82-pin NOAC inside, here: http://nesdev.parodius.com/nes-on-a-chip.txt
I'm a bit of a "noob" when it comes to this sort of thing, even with my degree in electronic engineering
Am I right in assuming:
PL1C means "Player 1 clock"?
PL12L means "Player 1/2 Latch", (connects to both controllers)?
PL1D means "Player 1 data?
XTAL 1 (and 2) connect to the clock crystal?
/RST means Reset (pull low to reset)?
The crystal may be connected any way round?
I can use the power supply board from a NES to power this thing?
All CHR and PRG pins connect to the cart connector?
Removing all the other chips will make it start in Famicom mode by default?
Sorry if these are a lot of questions. Hopefully many other people will benefit from the answers.

After checking the board with the pinout in front of me, I have found what appears to be the crystal. I think I'll just remove the other chips and add controller ports, and still use the SNES as a power supply.
