So i got four 3mm LEDs but i was wondering do i need anything more with that? also i know the LEDs go inside the screen but how do i attach that to the screen motherboard and also i know i have to cut off the the top area.
But my question about that is then how do i connect the screen back to the mother board. i know that the screen is connected from the back of the screen into the mother board,but there is also a place where the screen connects to the board that is in the area that is cut off. what do i do about that? and how do the LEDs connect to the screen? if any one knows where i can find diagrams to help me with this please let me know. Thanks for any help in advance.
yes, you can cut that part off, as is stated many times through out this forum...
if you don't have ben's book, i strongly recommend you get it. here is a link to the led mod part of his book. it gives very good step-by-step directions. simply put the 4th led in the upper left corner.

I noticed that something is different between the PSOne screen and the Zenith screen. I have circled it here.
Do i remove this piece or leave it? also i thought it was 4 LEDs needed but the book says 3. is that an error?

it is all just personal preference. i think most people on the forums prefer to do 4 leds since it gives a more even lighting effect. many complain that 3 leds are not bright enough. a few people even do 6 leds. it just depends on how close to the original brightness of the backlight you want your leds to be.

that capacitor is not necessary. zenith added it post psone screen design to filter something or other. you can simply remove it. the resistor is for the leds, completely different from the capacitor.
