NOAC Media card

Post by Cyberblade »

Would it be possible to make an adapter for the Noac to read roms from a media card or something of the sort? If so it'd be so easy to create an even smaller NES portable, possibly one that would be a only little larger then a GBC.

It'd be possible, but it would take a lot of ASM knowledge to program. It'd consist of a media card of your choice, a PIC microcontroller, a FPGA chip, and 2 RAM chips.

No way of replacing the 100000 games in one cart with something like that? Or perhaps just rewriting the cart because it's prolly just a flash cart. How would you do that? I'm interested in building a NesP from a Noac, but I don't want something with the massive, unreliable cartridge in my pocket.

Because of the different mappers the nes uses you can only use certain games with that method. Also, you'd need to program a bankswitching game selector in ASM still.

I already tried to ask the same question, and got the same answer.

I did replace the ROM in myne with a zif socket to plug in eeproms so I could play 0 mapper games without a cart although I cant figure out how to change the mirroring so its not compleatley effective for all 0 mapper games
