portable not working when testing power

portable not working when testing power
Hey dawgs,
So im half way through my portable n64 and im thinkin "hey lemme test this premature baby out before i go on..." so i put the n64 power adapter in including the expansion pak.....and when i power it i hear a clicking sound in the power supply and the red LED flickers.. im really buzzed out any clues?

I think you'll find that ur power supply might be dead. I would personally try using another power supply if you have one available. A possible reason for the clicking is that prolonged use of the power supply causes the stability of the voltage regulation to degrade. Thats my op. Try it and let us know how it goes.
Also - if ur using the official power adapter to power other devices (ie lcd screen, fans for ur portable etc), you might be overloading it. The damage has probably already been done.

thanks for the prompt reply fellas.
funny thing is I tried my other power supply , gots 2 of em... and it still did the same thing,
right now I'm just testing the mother board with the expansion pak hooked up, and no monitor or other foreign objects being powered, just to see if all goes well so I can continue working on it.
