another battery question/s ^^

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

another battery question/s ^^

Post by kasar »

well, since I was looking at home for some stuff for my new portable.

I found one of my broken laptops have a battery pack

I opened it and I got 11 of those batteies

seems nice Li-ons.

and I want to use them at my project, but seems are Li-ons, and need a prot circut.

I´m also thinking for the better batteries allocation (how many at serial, and how many at parallel) it depends, I know by default the gc regulator board got 12v from the original PSU, but I´m not sure if someone gave it like 7.2v or lower, I also need to know what is the better allocation for this. I think also will need a charger

for the moment I´m confused, I have lot of nice cells arround my desk, and dont know how use them at my project :S

need a few support and guide guys, thanks

thanks spinout, so i can see the gc regulator board will not work with 11.4 volts (grouping 3 celld at serial and 3 groups of 3 cells and parallel, 9 total)

I asume this regulator board will work with this one.

oh wait a moment, the laptop battery also said 14.4 volts 3600 mah, so maybe i can use it?.

Only problem is I desoldered most of cells from it, and I dont remember how it was connected (yes, dont need to say it, I seems silly...)

I also tryed to search the numbers labeled at the PCB but I didnt found nothing from it at internet

If you hacked apart the laptop battery its probably not going to work again. At least mine isnt :(.

haha.

Those cells arent that great and Im guessing they are pretty used. I would be expecting more like 2200mAh out of them or something.
