GBA to tv

Post by max4242 »

I was wondering if I could take my old gba and take something like a ps2 av cable strip the ps2 end off and solder the wires onto spots on the gba board.

Btw its probably not possible but I could find anything on this

update*

alright if i was to strip the end of an old ps2 av cable I could just solder the wires into the gba board right? i found the correct places to solder each wire

Also is there anyway I could hook up a psx controller to the gba?

It's not possible. You'd need to buy an expensive adapter to be able to use the Gba's screen, which adds unneeded bulk to the system, and outweighs any reason you'd have for using the Gba's screen in the first place.

The converters necessary are fairly rare IIRC. Dkap01 made a giant gba with one.

That doesn't look like any GBA board I've seen. If it is a TV adapter of some sort, then I imagine just soldering the correct pins to it should work with no issue, aye. You may need resistors or capacitors on the lines if using RGB though.

If you want to play the Gba on tv, you could always buy a Gamecube and the Gba player thing, probably cheaper too.

that could help if you somehow found the gba transverter but, it also gives instructions on how to use neo geo controllers.

It's theoretically possible, but there's no current way to do it AFAIK. I've successfully hooked up a SNES pad to an old Gameboy, but it uses a simpler protocol.
