Technical question re: PS1 (/xbox, etc) screens...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Technical question re: PS1 (/xbox, etc) screens...

Post by GonzoMPM-1 »

On the back of the PCB there are pads visible for Volume + and - , as well as brightness + and -.

If I decide to wire off of these pads ('cause I cannot utilize the tac switches on the front of the board), do I take these contacts to switches with the other lead wired to ground, or to Vcc to activate the desired action?

And, if its Vcc, do I take them to +5 or +7.2?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. As you can imagine, I did not want to "guess" on this one, as there seem to be a lot of stories about frying these boards. I'm new to these little screens, but they seem pretty nifty. Though I'm comfortable with electronics, I'm hesitant to screw anything up.

Again, thank you.
