PSone screen still dark!

I have a fresh PSone screen that I have almost-LED modded. Right now I dont have the official LED's that I want to use, but im using them to test right now..

I have 3 5mm 13000mcd white LED's, running in parallel, in all corners but the top left.

I have the +5 on the 7805 wired to pin 12 to supply the missing 5 volts

the 3 LED's are running off of pin 1 (+) and pin 2 (-) with a however many ohm resistor (The pack came with 7.2V resistors..

CV23 fuse has been bypassed...

The fuse on pin 1 has been bypassed...

I've taken pictures but my micro SD is in my car and my car is at my work and I'm at home.

I'll post them later, but can anyone tell me any reason why i can't get my whites to look white (They are grey) and everything is just darkened...

Is the pack specifically for the PSOne screen mod? What voltage are the LED's rated at, and what are the resistor colors?

If you are using the wrong resistor, the LED's might not be getting full power.

The resistors are the right values.

From this sentence, it seemed like you just bought a pack of resistors and used one, regardless of rating. Sorry if I misunderstood.

the LED's came with resistors for the 7.2 or 7.5 voltage

What are the colors on the resistor you're using? The rating is color-coded, which you can look up.

Well, they're for 7.2v to 7.5v, and you're using them with 5v. Too much resistance, you need lower ohm resistors.

according to bens book -
white led+5v from 7805+10 ohm resistor
should do it

Re-read your post, my mistake. It still sounds like you have too much resistance though.

I got my 3mm 13000mcd LED's today... and I can tell that my old LED's aren't 13000 mcd like advertised. I hooked ONE up compared to my previous three. The screen was 3 times brighter... Gah.

22 ohms of resistance, Nom nom. :]

Oh, okay. I was hoping so.

Glad to hear they helped. I said they were perfect for the LED mod. My LED modded screen looks better than any I have seen before. I used the same LEDs (4) and it is just as bright as the original backlight(if not, at least close. Its pretty perfect).

You are using a 22 ohm resistor for parallel right?
