I have III for the Wii, but I almost never play it. (But when I do, I play EXPERT!) I like playing my actual Les Paul (well... Epiphone Les Paul) way better. Plus, I can play pretty much every song from Guitar Hero III in real life, minus Dragonforce.
It's weird actually. It's like playing the game helped me learn the songs by ear a lot easier. I guess when you spend that much time hitting buttons timed up to the notes, it makes remembering what the song sounds like a lot better.

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.
A few months ago, I would have agreed with you. But since then I have played Rock Band with a few friends and its awesome. I personally like bass best, and I suck. But when you're playing with a couple friends, its really fun. I think playing it alone would feel kinda stupid though.Dr. KillGood wrote:I don't play because guitar hero is a overrated button mashing/timeing game for rednecks.
And is it just me, or does Guitar Hero for Wii seem like the controller is out of sync? I feel like I have to strum about a half second early for the note to be correct.
Got GH3 for the 360 last winter, worked my way up to expert and was stuck on Raining Blood for like two weeks. Finally gave up when I picked up Rock Band. Raining Blood and TTFAF are the only two songs that I couldn't get through on expert. On Rock Band, It's Ride the Lightning and Thrasher than I don't think I'll ever get through. The solo on RTL is downright brutal, and I haven't even gotten TO the solo on Thrasher because the strumming is too damn fast.
My goal was to rank in the top 1000 worldwide for solo career score on Rock Band. I made it to 1499 and gave up. I think I'm down to like 1600 now. I'm still pretty stoked about that though.
I still play on Live, just more to have fun and not trying to build up my score anymore.

You may need to calibrate it. The 360 version has a calibration menu, needs to be adjusted sometimes depending on TV type, connection, etc. Once you set it once, you won't need to mess with it anymore. I'm sure the Wii version has the same thing.vskid wrote:And is it just me, or does Guitar Hero for Wii seem like the controller is out of sync? I play waayyyy too much. I got a head start on everyone I know because I got Guitar Hero 1 the week it came out. I thought it would be pretty cool, something like DDR. At first I was kind of shy to even play in front of other people, but when I got to expert I started showing my friends. Most of them being musicians (myself included), they were all like "wtf, a fake plastic guitar game?" That ended quickly
Then the game went largely unnoticed at my school until the second one came out. Since then, I've gotten every game at it's release, except Guitar Hero 3. The song list for Guitar Hero 1 is still my favorite, but I like Guitar Hero 2 the best as far as gameplay. In Guitar Hero 1, the hammer-ons and pull-offs are really tough, on Guitar Hero 3, they're a complete joke, too easy. On Guitar Hero 2, they're perfect. Rocks the 80's is amazing, my second favorite song list. I've five-starred everything on 1, 2, 3, and Rocks the 80's on Expert, and I'm waiting for more. Yeah it's kind of useless, but it's a lot of fun with friends, and I know how to play most of the songs in real life anyway
As far as Rock Band goes, I barely touch the guitar, drums all the way!! Expert drums took forever to master, but now it's totally my new favorite.

Games are for fun. Guitar Hero is for fun.
I used to play III on 360, a lot of fun, still waiting for Rock Band to hit PS3 and I might pick it up.

I have GH 2, 3, and Rock Band for 360. I think my favorite is Rock Band because of the four player co-op. I really enjoy all the games, but now it's going a little overboard and I hope it stops soon. Guitar Hero World tour is coming out this winter and will have a new drum set and a new guitar and Rock Band 2 will follw with its own new controllers - I don't have space for any more plastic instrument controllers! I really hope they're all backwards and cross compatible or I may have to stop getting such games.

too bad the Rock band 2 guitar will be no different except that it will look more like a guitar (With a wood looking finish)Black Six wrote:I have GH 2, 3, and Rock Band for 360.
