Forcing off domains

Okay, I'm PO'd.

One jerk registered an undesirable domain to my microsite.

I want it off but he dos not listen. Is there a way to force off domains?

If you have ban abilities you should be able to either ban the site specifically or the IP address it uses.

If you let us know what kind of software you're using, we might be able to help you more.

So I have a (private, for my friends only!) forum on TopBB.com. It's a free forum host that uses PHPBB.

Then some jerk registered a domain name with hard bad words and pointed it to my private forum.

I want it off. Sure everything is hidden except for people I know in real life, but it's infuriating to have the "F-Bomb," "vulgar term for crap" and "BS" associated with it.

I doubt you have enough control via that host, but you could write an access redirect line for anyone getting to the forums through that URL.

Yeah, I don't think you have too much control over something like this. Otherwise, Microsoft would have done something about http://thesource.ofallevil.com

That's just due to the improperly formed domain caused by the inclusion of the .

If your site is running on an Apache server with the mod_rewrite module enabled, you can use that to reject get requests from undesirable domains by using {REQUEST_URI} to create a whitelist or blacklist.

This has nothing to do with Microsoft. As much as we all like to bash them it's not their fault this time. We're talking about standard http stuff here. What you'd have to do is as Gannon and others described. You'll have to redirect based upon the referencing url. I'm not an IT guy really, but I know basically how it works.
