New Policy

Post by Skyone »

Due to the abundance of misplacement of threads, the administration has decided to become stricter on the topic.

If you post a thread irrelevant to the topic of the forum, it will no longer be peacefully moved to the appropriate forum, said thread is now accountable for deletion or being locked.

More information: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=18408 (it's a sticky, people)

Sincerely,
The Administration (i.e. not only me)

Anyway, aside from the mediocre attempt to make you laugh, having mis-placed topics mess the forum. I completely agree.

Hallelujah, is about all I can say. Please start banning noobs for posting in the wrong section as it doesn't take long to look to make sure its the proper place to post.

Yeah you're not reading fast enough.

I agree with just simply taking care of misplaced threads. I've been here about three years, and I've placed a thread in the wrong forum maybe twice?

Yea dood but there is a difference between making a semi blog with a tech question at the end and putting it in F42 and throwing a psp post in F42 when there is a clearly labeled psp section....

Actually, I recently misplaced a thread. However, It could have easily fit in either section. Had I had not mentioned n64, then it would not have been moved. So you guys are doing yo jobs! :) I am all for sheer action in locking or deletion of topics that are in the wrong section, but I believe this policy is probably due to the amount of mods. I looked at the list and determined that we have 4 inactive(5 if you wanna count luc watch him reply to say, "NOOO!") moderators. And I really only see Black Six, CTFan, and Skyone(who doesnt seem like the old Skyone, at least to me) moving and locking topics.(Bic(?) gannon and Sparkfist are admins, they dont count :P)

I'm not saying you should add mods, but that the swarm of noobs that come here shouold be required to read, understand, and be quizzed on the rules!

Besides, We could probably list the real regulars and vetrans on a small piece of paper. In fact, we should!

Mah too sentz.

SS

EDIT: I like all you guys, so its not like I'm mad or anything. I dont usually make topics, cause I'm busy following bacteria's orders: Less time on forums, more time on portables/modding. <- Which is why were here in the first place, dadgummit!

Ok, guys, joking apart, my thoughts are:

* Yes, people who persistently post in the wrong section should be warned; however it is easy sometimes to post in the wrong forum by using one logic over another - for example, I was after someone to give me link to where I could get tiny flat screws, or supply me (didn't happen), and I was told this should be in the trading forum not the forum 42 - my logic was that I wasn't selling, trading or necessarily buying (a website url in UK would be fine), so I used forum 42 as I wasn't trading. Ok, wrong forum, but logic was there for forum 42.

* Some of the forums are not easy to know to post in without guidance; posting old systems in Atari 2600 for example which are not Atari 2600. This leads to issues. I know however you can't have a forum for everything so compromises are made, however this also means a bit of tolerance from the mods too.

* We are using this forum as a hobby and for fun. Skyone, you are a great moderator here and well respected and one of the core members here, yes; however saying things like "i've got impatient/bitter, want to make something ok it?" is confrontational and a bit power-hungry - it is aggressive and suggests you will act against anyone who disagrees with you. Are you still suitable to be a moderator on this forum with that view I wonder? Some other forums have died when moderators have got like that. If you hate the job, pass it on to someone else, maybe older...

I can see where your coming from, hopefully this site will revert to the good old days. Back when spam was not in stock, and it couldn't hit the fan, dawg.

Might I ask you the same question? Actually, after meeting Godot in Pheonix Wright T&T, I decided to go drink 5 cups of coffee. Dead serious.

I was just having some fun(funziez), as its what keeps this forum a cozy little nook where we make portables and giggle.

Hahahaha I bet you expected that there was going to be some important or funny comment down here and you highlighted it and put it in your address bar just to see what i said but I got you because I knew what you were going to do before you even got to do it, which give me some hidden satisfaction, which I might not even know of if you don't respond to this. And yes, I fully know and understand that I am not the first person to do this. If your still reading, I commend you and give you a warm cookie and milk, or coffee if you prefer. Congraduration, for twoday, a winrar is you. and yes its supposed to bee spelled liek that.
