Hannspree 9.6" lcd

Has anyone ever used any of the hannspree 9.6 inch lcd TVs? They come in race cars, lions, trains, winnie the pooh and a whole bunch of kiddie things. I know its gonna chew up a lot of power but it would fit my enclosure perfectly.

I haven't used one but it looks like a really nice screen... But if you're sticking that in a gcp you're going to need one gigantic battery.

Does it take RGB or composite??

there are composite and s-video inputs. How do I know about RGB? I think i remember seeing that gc can't output rgb so that doesn't really affect me.

if gc has svideo def. go for that, still much better quality. better yet you can put that thru an amp circuit for improved quality if you have the case space!

Perhaps a LED brightness mod would help with the power consumption.

It would be great if you could respond with your findings. I'm currently searching for a good, but large screen to use on a portable project.

could be a while, i want to make sure that i can get the rest of the system portable before i drop $80 on a screen

ok i ended up getting the mets baseball screen off ebay for $55 shipped, I thought it was a pretty good deal. Got a few pictures of the guts...

As for the led mod...I didn't get that far. I think I fried it in my newbie confidence....

So can this thing still be sold for parts or is every thing just dead on it?

After I took the last picture I took off the heavy metal backing of the lcd along with the tape around the set of wires running from the mobo to the back of the lcd. There was a grounded wire wrapped and screwed in to the mobo. I reconnected the lcd to mobo and plug in the wall power. Power light came on but nothing happeded in the screen. Then I realized I didn't plug in the two wires the went from the powerboard to the lcd. Still wouldn't turn on. Now I put the tape on again the screwed in the wire. Now the power light didn't even turn on...

make sure your fcc cable is securely connected (thats the cable on the lcd with many wires) and make sure you screwed in those 2 cables according to their polarity ( red + / black - )

test with a multimeter to make sure voltage is still getting to the boards etc
