Help with ps1 memory card in a ps2.

Post by ghosstt »

Well, i got a ps1 memory card so I can play MGS:1 from the essentials collection (I've still yet to get it).

The ps2 sees it in the browser, but when I try and format it, it says unable to format. Do I need to format it? Anyone know why I can't format it?

You can only format PS2 memory cards in a PS2 as far as I know.

And no, you don't need to format a PS1 memory card.

Well, when I choose it from the browser this is the message

Code: Select all

Unformatted. Format now? Yes No
No is pre-selected

If you move to yes and select it you get this:

Code: Select all

Formatting Failed.
If you stay with no you get this:

Code: Select all

The memory card was not formatted.

I'm thinking it will work if I try and format it through a game. (When I save, see if it asks me to format, & if it does, then ill try that) Any ideas?
