Summer Moddin' (had me a blast) :P

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

+2 to whoever gets the reference. Well, actually, -2, 'cause you actually watched that crapstorm.

Anyways, we've talked about what your plans are for summer, but it's also the best time of the year to start modding stuff. So, anyone have any aspirations or projects this year?

No portables for me this year, but I do wanna build an arcade cabinet (or two, if I wanna make some money) finally. Just got an older 333MHz tower and a CRT, so now all I need is some plastic, wood, and a good frontend. By the way, anyone know a good frontend? :P

Well, this year I am going to be working on my Dreamcast Laptop. I hope to have it finished by the 28th of this month. (All I have to do is make sure it works with my monitor (Gotta wait until tomorrow or thursday to test it), and then build a case.

After that, I may start my revision 2 of my dreamcast laptop or I may start an xbox laptop or xbox portable.

GameEx works well and can do multiple emulators and multimedia, but I don't know how well that old machine will handle it. There's also AdvanceMAME...

I might actually finish something this summer.

Well, probably gonna give guitar lessons to people for money. I plan on beating through the Metal Gear Solid Series, and Possibly maybe start a portable of some sort. I also plan on doing a lot of recording with music and such.

Update:

Muahhaa. I'll start my Dreamcast Laptop case tomorrow most likely. The VGA box will be here (Garunteed). If it works, the project will continue. Awsome.

Also, I'm gonna grab MGS4 and MGO. I love Metal Gear.

Im going to a convention as Big Boss from MGS. I'll be in my army camo and have a giant exclamation mark above my head. I'm also bringing a question mark. Haha.

I hope so. I plan on buying the "essesntials collection" bundle that they are selling now for $30. I just have to get a ps1 memory card for the original. (I don't get why they could port the game to a ps2 disc, but not save on a ps2 memory card  )

Metal Gear will consume my summer as well! :P Big Boss > Solid Snake all the way. Oh, and MGS3 Ocelot > AWLLL!!! He's so damn awesome, I hope MGS4 explains how everything went wrong for heroes like himself and Big Boss to start an organization like the Patriots.

I will hopefully get a job of some kind. Then I'll probably use my new found funds to build and sell a N64p, GCp, and/or xbox laptop (maybe several if I'm good and it makes more moneys).
I was also thinking of making a robotic lawnmower using Lego Mindstorms stuff to control it. Problem is I can't figure out how to tell it when it reaches an edge.

An extremely unlikely project would be finding a cheap Escort wagon and converting it to electric. Main obstacle would be cost, which is what makes it unlikely (unless my parents decide gas costs enough that it would be worth it to pitch in).

I intend on correcting the keystoning on the projector I built and installed to point on my ceiling right above my bed so I can play NES lying down without having to readjust my head.

I also need to finish my Game Boy Pocket Color; it's nearly done though. It runs fine off of Triple A's!

My handheld NES is slowly making progress.

I got a mem card you could buy. I really want the essential collection even thought I already own all of them. I collect everything metal gear.
