Xbox Controler in WinXP

Post by Joes2Silly »

I made a xbox USB adapter a while back and I'm trying to install the drivers to get it to work in Windows XP. The problem is that when I plug it in, instead of the Windows prompt for driver installation popping up, I just get a baloon that says USB Device Not Recognized. This is an original xbox controller not a xbox 360 one.

Go to the device manager (right click My Computer->properties->hardware tab->device manager) and find your controller there. Double click on it and you should be able to install the drivers from there. If you're still having trouble, try some different drivers.

still doesn't work, and I'm positive its not my drivers.

EDIT: In a fit of rage, I tore apart the adapter and found the problem, a loose wire. It works now....
