Um guys, you know that the admin has this little button on the admin panel that lets him activate a simple chat, right? It's just this one little chat that anyone who's registered can get into.

...and your point is what? Electric Rain's Grease Monkey thing works just fine. Besides, I'm sure the admin knows all about that little button, and I'm sure they haven't used it for a very good reason.

My point is that its not that difficult at all. Its just a button that says "allow chat" and you click "yes" or "no" and it sets itself up. Though, you might be right, he's probably worried that there'll be so many on the chat, that it crashes...

Believe me, there is no magic "enable chat" button in the admin panel.

Whatever copy of phpBB you were using must have had mods installed.

Um, this is a site I started a little while ago, its probably a different copy of phpBB:

If you scroll down to the login, there's a button that says "join chat". Its a really simple chat where you can't change your name, and is just one channel. I'm not that much of a computer guy, and all I had to do to make it was click one button. The rest took care of itself.

Yeah, that's a modded version. Usually those free forum hosts throw a few goodies in to attract business.
