DS sound outputs

Post by The_Kid »

Ok, anyone able to tell me how to figure out sound outputs/ do it themselves?

Wait, I should explain myself a bit better

I have a sansa express 1gb mp3 player
stripped of its casing I just need to do a bit of dremeling to get it the right fit for the slot 2 blank that comes with the system.

I want to hook it up so that it is powered off the battery, but I know how to do that. what I need help with is finding out how to output the sound to the DS' headphone jack out. I figure I could try it myself or ask for help from those who are more experienced.

Any and all help would be appreciated. I'll try and MSpaint something up tonight to show an idea of what it would look like completed.

But why? Isn't it easier to put the headphone jack on the top of slot2 blank cartridge?

Not enough room, sa far as I can tell. I'll check, bnut I'm doubtful. also, 1 audio jack seems more......compact and professional.

UPDATE: WOO! Took my shuffle apart, it'll fit, after liberal application of dremel, so I can ignore this request. Thanks for helping me double check my work!

It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.

Did some dremeling on a spare blank I had, the shuffles circuit board just almost fits, I think I'm gonna need to shave a bit off the slot 2 connector, but I had planed on that anyways. Once home I think I can get this done today, assuming I don't fry something.

Hurr, broke my DS.

A really stupid way to do it too, I inadvertently dremeled part of it that it needed off.

After stepping back, and asking myself why I was doing this, I didn't really have an answer, so I guess this is dead unless someone wants me to dump information about what I did.

For the record, it was successful until I took off part of my motherboard. :?

Post good pics or expect nothing but guesses. Use macro mode, no flash, in a well lit area.
