That one screw....

You all know that one screw I am talking about, the one that refuses to turn or it turns but refuses to leave its spot.

How do you get around this guy? Why is he always the last one too?

Try unscrewing it while pushing REALLY hard. ('Lean on the screwdriver' hard.) That usually gets them un-stuck.

You could always drill a hole down through it and extract it that way.

Well it was in a non important plastic part so I just broke the part in half, tried putting pressure well turning and all that and it just stripped the screw.

I was like F**K THIS! *craccccccckkkkk!!!*

That works for me most of the time also. That tell tale 'click' is worth all the work that went into hold the screwdriver down.

That means you're not pushing hard enough.

just take a dremel next time and drill the screw right down the center. It'll probably end up melting the case a tad bit, but whatever.

You can use locking clamps if its not flush mounted.

No see the screw turned with barely any force given to it, but thats all it did was turn and never moved out of the hole.

That's the result of a stripped threads on the screw or in the standoff it was screwed into. You have to "grip" the screw in some way, so you can pull it out... but since I don't really know how to do that without really strong, fine-tipped tweezers, which I don't have, I would just do what you did.

If you can get something under the head of the screw and apply upwards pressure, you might be able to unscrew it then.

How about putting your soldering iron on top of the screw to heat it, this will melt the plastic holding the screw; use some pliers then to lift the screw out.

The hole and screw are tiny, pliers would not fit.

Or you could just pull the assembly apart while the plastic is melted, since it's the last screw.
