XBox USB Controller

Post by gannon »

So, sat down and modded the xbox port on the dongle to a usb one. Only took a few minutes, but I felt stupid afterwards when I remembered I have an xbox port on the PC I'll use this on already :P Figured I'd share the mod/stupidity, fun stuff :P
Some crappy pics so I can get back to what's important, using what I didn't need to create :P

At least you made yours look pretty. :P Mine that I made is just an Xbox controller and a A-A USB cable spliced together. But this way I got a USB Xbox controller, and a USB port on my Xbox (on the cable).

Easiest way would be to buy an adapter, would cost $10 at most

You could buy something like this. I found one at Walmart for $9.99 that converts gamecube, xbox(like this is necessary  ), and ps2 controllers to usb. It also has 2 usb ports on it.

No, you need a converter for it to work.

Just buy one, they're $10 at Wal-Mart.

Bic, you can just take a usb cord and wire it to the xbox controller. It's the only controller you can do that with.

Nope. You need a converter for PS2.

It's not possible, give it up. You would need to write drivers for the controller and everything. The only reason you can do it with the xbox pad is there are drivers. Just buy a converter.

Sure they explained, but they explained wrong :P
XBox controllers actually use the USB protocol, the other consoles use other custom ones for the most part.
