tell us some games you already have/like for NES or SNES or what genres you're interested in. I could go on for pages with good games, its all a matter of what you're interested in.

Sonic 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles
Sonic Spinball
Sparkster
Ristar
Ranger X
Gunstar Heroes
Dynamite Headdy
Streets of Rage 1, 2, 3

Christ, I bought what I thought was Dynamite Headdy at Goodwill recently. I got it home, opened the bag it was sealed in, opened the case, and found... GOD DAMN BUBSY.

Alright then, some random NES/SNES games I love (off the top of my head):

Super Mario Bros/World
The Zelda series
Super Star Wars
Super Smash TV
Bible Buffet
Mario Kart (keep in mind that I strongly dislike realistic racing games but cartoony ones like Mario Kart are a lot of fun)

I like RPGs (though I have very limited experience with old skool RPGs, so that would be a cool place to start), platformers, adventure games, really most genres save fighting and realistic race sims, also not too big on sports sims, though Madden is a very notable exception and I already do intend to pick up some of the early Madden games.

You looking for any Madden games in particular? I've got quite a few.

I'm not sure.

One of the early ones (when it was "John Madden Football" rather than being "Madden NFL") or maybe Madden 97 (when franchise mode first entered the picture).

Though I'm strapped for cash, so nothing right now.

Well, let me know. I'd have to go double check, but I've got like '90, '92, 93... Early early stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's federal law that everybody who has a Genesis must own a copy of Madden 93.

Is it that it's any good, or that it's just everywhere? I have a copy, but I've never played it. Sports games aren't my thing.

Well, it's pretty much the pinnacle of 16 bit video game football, before EA turned completely evil. You aren't expected to appreciate it for what it is, or even play it, but ownership of Madden 93 is no less compulsory.

Word, I'll probably get it then, thanks for the tip, I'm not into sports that much but Madden has a place in my heart, evil or not EA makes a damn good Football game.

Also, 17daysolderthannes mentioned that Golden Axe is a brawler, what exactly is that?

Is that like Battletoads, that Batman games for SNES, or Death and Return of Superman (I think that's what it's called)?

Cause I do like that type of game.

Golden Axe is what is known as a SIDE-SCROLLING BEATEMUP. See also: Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Brawl Brothers, River City Ransom, and others.

I forget the name of it now, but there's a beatemup engine for PC and Dreamcast, user configurable, like Mugen (but without all the drama, thievery, and awful, awful community behind it).
