Help with my PC!

When I turn on the computer, ywo error messages appear, and its very annoying, so I am posting here an image of the error windows to see if somebody here knows what could they be or how to fiw them, I am adding a translation of what the messages say (its just an estimate translation).



1st: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The systems archive is not appropriate to run MS-DOS & Windows aplications. Select *Close* to finalize the application.

2nd: Is already in english.

Hope somebody can help me, if not dont worry, thanks in advance.

Hmm, you will get two suggestions, switch to linux, and try googleing it, sorry but i have no information on what those probs are, try a totally computer oriented forum, there pretty helpful.

Did they appear when you installed XP or a new DOS program?

Because XP does not have MS-DOS like previous Windows versions, and can have trouble reading DOS files and other 16-bit applications.

I have XP Pro and it will not use DOS files.

Try updating any drivers/files that are DOS files, or drivers/files made before about 1998 if that doesn't work.

Those window borders look like they're from XP GUI...unless 2000 has the same window borders in their GUI...

Whatever it is, it's an NT-based system like NT, 2000, or XP(to an extent)

In any case, it still looks like a compatability conflict with a DOS or other 16-bit application and maybe an NT application.

NT systems don't exactly play nice all the time with other programs or drivers meant for other OSes...

It must be XP because 2000 does not have that GUI.
Have you tried Windows 95 or 98 simulation mode? It allows for some programs to run in NT. You just make a shortcut and go into the shortcut properties to set it.
I hope your Windows isn't corrupted with a message like that though.

Reinstall windows if we don't find the solution, but if you'd tell us what you did before it happened, it might be useful !

I did some research, and first you should try this:

Click Start > Run
Type msconfig
Click the Startup tab.
Look for a line that says BitWare, uncheck it.
Click OK.
If Windows asks to reboot, do so.

Well, I have Win XP PRO SP2, this started "randomly" since I didnt install anything, the only thing I did was remove JCreator PRO 3.1 (Java compiler), and also remove Java 1.4.3 to install Java 1.5.1.

for Spongebuell, Windows is still called Windows in México, but the "Windows" displayes are called ventanas.

look for "BitWare NT Agent" or wcntagent or BWPRNMON

in Controll pannel/Add or remore programs and if they are there erace

if you cant find anything try runing for a serch for BWPRNMON if you find a exe marked that erace it if you cant erace it rename it restart your computer then erace it

I had this problem a few weeks ago, here's a fix:

Your autoexec.nt file may be missing or corrupt. This link directs you on how to fix the problem, whatever it is. Hope this works!

Try NOT running SP2. I wait a while before installing service packs. (I hust installed SP1! :-)
