Starting My GCP Portable!

Yeah, I'm starting to make a GCP! I'm still considering the case design, although I want it to have Li-Ions, a Zenith Xbox Screen (If the quality is good.) and a slim case.

I've copied a diagram off the forums and have got some information on the few GCP portablilizing information threads that do exist. So? Any tips, suggestions, or other bits of information?

If you can figure out a way to slim that disk drive down, that would be awesome! Good luck on your project!

Thanks! I will try to, I'll experiment with the disc drive. I'm thiking about using four of http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... rodID=4358 I'll also use a resistor. Do those batteries look good?

Unfortunately, those won't work for a number of reasons.

1) Those things will explode if you don't put a protection circuit on them.
2) You need 12 volts to power a GameCube. If you wired all of those batteries in series, you would get enough volts, however you would get less than an hour of playtime.

So one more experienced can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that all of that is right.

Although, those batteries are a bit large. Are there any smaller ones?

If you put two of these in series, you would get enough volts. You wouldn't have much playing time though.

Those batteries that were posted first seem to be the best option, if there are no better ones for the job.

The GC only needs 5V if you use a small 12V step-up regulator.

technically it needs 1.9, 3.3 and 5v plus the stepup for 12v
