does any one know how to hack a pustom screen

I a making an atari portable and was wondering if any one knows how to led mod it and make it work with a 7.2v battery (it uses 12v)

Just try supplying it with 7.2v and see if it runs off of that. If it does then you're in business.

but was worried that it may damage the screen

It won't hurt it to give it too little power. The only thing that will happen is it won't turn on if it's too low. If the voltage is too high, however, it will probably ruin it.

I've tried most of the 2.5" screens and most of them run at 8-9volts anything less and they glitch.

How so? If it is just the backlight that messes up, you could LED mod the screen and probably get it to run at lower voltages.

Never tried to led mod them.

Just tried to run them at 7,2v and 7.8v and they would have lines across the screen or rolling screens. At 8-9v they would work perfectly.
