need help powering sreen!

hi, i am fairly new to this site but i have been looking at it for about the last 5 months. it just took forever for an activation link to get to my email to register. well i have been making an n64p for about the last three months and i have pretty much all the wiring done except i cant get the screen to power up off of batteries. i have looked at many wiring diagrams and have it down just like they all say yet the screen doesnt turn on.

also, i am running the screen (zenith xbox screen) off of 5 AA batteries ~ 7.5v and that is how much it needs. there is a battery pack of 4 batteries and a 1 battery pack. the one seperate one made about three batteries pop so far and the acid comes out. could that battery pack be my problem?

Man, I don't know if you can get enough power from 5 simple AA batteries to run an N64 and power the screen... at least not for very long.

Something doesn't sound right with batteries blowing out like that. I'm assuming you've got this thing wired in series. That is, the positive of the 4 battery pack going to the negative of the 1 battery back or something like that. Any other arrangement is probably wrong

noo i am running only the screen off of the five battery pack. the n64 is running off of another 8 AA battery pack.

try getting everything to run off a single DC source (SAves time and headache)

I recommend getting everything to run off a sony 7.2 volt adapter for the psone

Take the adapter and run the voltage trough a DC-Dc circuit to power the N64 (It ain't that hard believe me)

Then run the 7.2 volts in parallel to the screen

ie

7.2 volts --------Dc -Dc --- N64---ground
|
---------N64-----------ground
|
-----------screen--------ground

just do not forget to use voltage regulators to help keep you from fryin anything
