NES/Famicom "laptop" for sale

Post by timwylie »

This is an item I bought in Venezuela on a trip there about 7 years ago. It's a famicom system in a laptop type casing being sold as an educational computer. It has a multi-game cart with it which does include a BASIC programming system, so you can write BASIC programs. Instead of a screen it has a cheap LCD game with tetris/etc. To use the NES/Famicom system there are composite out connections on the back.

I bought this because I was just going to take the lcd game out, cut the plastic to install an actual screen and wire it to the composite video, and then wire in an NES to Famicom converter. A pretty easy NES laptop. Unfortunately I haven't had time, and I'll probably never get around to actually doing it so I figured I'd go ahead and sell it.

It only takes famicom carts, and I don't have an adapter.
I don't really know what it's worth. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.

Also if anyone is interested I have a couple of game boy like famicom clones with the same lcd games instead of a screen, and you play the famicom by connecting the system to a TV. One called "Dr. Boy" that I got in Venezuela, and another called something boy that I got in Greece.

Well, you actually weren't the first.:) Several people have also requested pictures of the gameboy type ones, so I'll get those posted soon.

The cable for the tv on the blue one is missing, but it's just a standard cable. also, they both have adapters to play full size famicom carts. Also, the red cable is a scart connector for europe, but you can use the standard audio/video cables with it as well.
