I think I broke my Gamecube Disk Drive

Well, I have no idea what happened, but now when I plug in the disk drive into the gamecube, and push the little sensors on it to make it think that the disk cover is on, it doesn't power...I think I might've broke the little sensor thing, and I can't resolder it because the screw attaching it is stripped... So what Do I do? Is there a way to remove the sensor and make it work without it? And this might help if I found a way to load the games through an SD Card, but until then, Im stuck...What Should I Do?

It'd be a lot easier to buy another one. They arn't expencive anymore. There really cheap, plus if you already havbe your hookups your good to go.

Well, I guess when I push the plug, which is the white object in the first and second picture, the drive works, so I must've damaged that of course. I just want to fix it so I don't have to go out and get a new one and take that one apart too. Anything I can do?

Can't you solder the wires directly to the board without using the plug?

I had the same issue. I think the white socket near Lid switch is desoldered from the PCB. Remove the screw and PCB and resolder the socket. It's nothing hard.
