Stranded Wire Size

Stranded Wire Size

I am working through the book trying to connect the 7805 regulator with a wire. But the thing is I don't know what size wire I should get. I know it's suppose to be stranded but that's it. I would appreciate if someone would point me in the right direction :)

Like an IDE cable or a bit thicker.

Ribbon cable and then tear out a piece to use as a wire. Thanks.
