GBC screen lighting
I know that baklighting a GBC cant be done, but I saw a tutorial where you open up the GBC, remove this black padding on the screen and the GBC screen stays lit...my question is has anyone done this and by removing the black foam padding does it have any negative effects either on the gameboy or perhaps your eyes?

Ya, bend the corners of the metal away from the glass first, then when you pry it off it won't create pressure points on the glass. I didn't bend the corners and broke a corner of the screen, but it still worked (I was very lucky, the screen could have easily been killed).Dr. KillGood wrote:Taking the metal backing off the LCD is the WORST!
Go slow, or you WILL break the LCD glass.

Found this from that video you were at. http://youtube.com/watch?v=csnf9arXw8o&feature=related
How exactly would this be done; LEDs, soldering, tearing away some plastic?
And of course, the screen part. Pull the foam off and anything else? I have three gameboy colors, though I'd prefer not to ruin any of them.
