How much room is actually in a GBO?

Post by ghosstt »

Well, I am starting another project(s)[probably going to make 2]. Its another sensor bar! This time in a GBO original case. I know people say there is tons of room in those things, but i need to know how much. I would really LOVE to do this with all of the GBO mobos still inside so I could have a working GBO/Sensorbar. Here is some concept art. Do you think there is enough room for it?

PS:(I'll run it off of the original battery slots, and use the main power switch too. I'll run another switch that will either have power for the batteries going to the GBO or sensor bar)

I might also only use 2 LEDS instead of 4.

Like I said in AIM, you should actually use all 4 LEDs, because it would be less of a hassle to wire, and there should be plenty of room in the GBO, I have taken one apart before, there is a lot of space as far as I'm concerned, you don't need much space for a few LEDs and wire :P

Not sure yet. I'm going to build one for myself first, and then make another one to sell.

The wii uses it to find the position of the wiimote, and triangulates the data and allows the motion sensing.

If you get it to be a working GBO and sensor bar I'd defedently pay over $20.

A GBO can be put to much better use, in my opinion. For my second abandoned portable, I was going to put a NOAC and hipgear into one, like G-force did multiple times, then get a working demo with all the non-smt through-hole parts. A GBO is probably one of the coolest portables gut-wise, and deserves much better than to be a case for some lights.

Well, if you read my topic, it will also function as a fully working GBO. So its multi functional.

Thought it might have something to do with the Wii.

But anyways, the GBO is one of my favorite systems, I'd rather play it over a GBC anyday (it was my first system and I am very prone to nostalgia), and I kinda agree with Kurt on this, but whatever, it's your GBO, it's not like there's a shortage or anything (I would be so sad if there was, I should buy like 10 right now in case that ever happens, I won't live life without one).

I guess I don't much get the point of this, is it supposed to replace the Wiimote?

Will it still be able to play games?

If it can still play Game Boy games then there's no harm, but if it can't, then well, there's still no harm.

Until the shortage begins!
