mounting objects inside case, the best method
so i got everything wired correctly and my case built and will paint it friday, but i was wondering how some of you mounted things like the controllers, screen, cart slot, etc... to the case itself. was hoping to use something removable but bolts and nuts would go through to the outside and make the case ugly. if i mounted the nuts inside the case then the controller/screen wouldnt be flush with the case. any ideas? does hot glue hold correctly?

Hot glue works, but don't go overboard with it. From my experience, every time I mount something with hot glue a wire will come loose and I have to pull up the hot glue I just put down. It happens to me every time... Just make sure that everything is absolutely good to go before mounting it with hot glue.
Another method is to buy threaded spacers from a hardware store and glue/epoxy them in place and use them as screwposts. That works pretty well. I've also seen Turbo Tax use a dowel rod to make his own screwposts - that works too.

I use nylon spaces and hotglue. I used to use screws but epoxy doesn't like nylon that well so I went with hotglue to attach almost anything. Some things are still epoxied and screwed on but the majority is hotglue. Just don't go over board and make sure your electronics are working before hand.

ok well after getting things mounted i realized when i hacked up my SNES controller i cut it too close to the right directional button and it wont work right. so i bought another snes controller, only one for sale in town, and of course they are two different versions. the 1st one i cut up had the single chip inside it and much simpler. the 1st generation controller, that i plan to mod, has the 2 chips in it and im not sure what all the little white line things are inside it, didnt know if they were extra wires or just something random. anyone know what im talking about or pictures needed?
