We all know that HD makes movies look better but with some, the charm is taken away as well as the grain and the bad picture. What are (in your opinion) some movies that should not be released in HD?
The Evil Dead comes to mind, the movie is grainy and on DVD you can see the matte lines, imagine it on Blu-ray? It would be horrible.
Movies you dont want in HD?

All known copies of "Super Mario Bros: The Movie" should be destroyed for the betterment of mankind. Horrible movie. Hated it when I saw it in the theater and continued to hate it when we watched for SMN a while back.Jongamer wrote:The Wizard and

"The Wizard" was a movie I enjoyed a lot as a kid. Haven't seen it in ages though. Not sure how it would hold up, but if they brought it out in HD I would probably still buy it.
I can't really think of any movies I wouldn't want to see in HD (other than crappy movies anyway). Maybe "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (the original 1970's version). That movie looks like a snuff film due to its low budget nature and that is a big part of what makes it so creepy. Not that it would be magically cleaned up if brought to HD (there is only so much that can be done when restoring movies), but any improvement in image quality could detract from the filmmaker's original intent.
For the most part I welcome movies being released in HD. I now own a beautiful version of "2001: A Space Odyssey" on HD DVD and it is amazing. When I first got my HDTV I watched the DVD I had of "2001" on it and it looked like garbage. The HD DVD is awesome and was $20 well spent. That movie is 40 years old so it just goes to show that whether the film is new or old it can look amazing in HD if the stars align.
Now if they would only bring "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" out in HD...
