Your prices seem a bit inflated. $65 for a SNES mini and $85 for a PS1 screen? And those are prices without shipping?

Those are with shipping. Sorry forgot to add that tidbit. You always charge for inflated prices on items like this. You could quote a $50 screen and then when you go and buy the screen its already been taken so you have to sell out an additional $15 out of your pocket to get another one. Its just smart business.

Sweet found a psone screen for $60 on ebay. Last week the cheapest one I could find was $85 :? They seem to fluctuate in prices a lot. I have seen one sell for $100. At the moment the going price for a SNES mini is $75. Theres one for $65 if anyone wants to grab it.

i can get brand new better than hipgear quality 2.5" lcds for 50 shipped on ebay all the time. retro duos for 50 shipped verge/zenith screens for 30-40 plus shipping on ebay BIN is pretty common too, i wouldnt pay over 50$ for any LCD unless by special request (eg if they specifically want an AEI lcd or a 3-4 inch one that i would have to look for on ebay and cost more)

I am engineered minded. I refuse to build anything that is less than prefect. So what if the bottom line takes a hit. I am not an accountant. An engineer can design two different ways. He or she can design with cost in mind or design with perfection in mind. A product can be only two of the following: Cheap, Good, and quick to build. I choose to design my portables with a strong emphasis on Good. I could go cheap but then I would have to wait for the right moment to buy parts on ebay. I want a guaranteed source of parts so I can build portables quickly which means paying a bit more.

All I have to say is my customers are pleased with their portables and I have not had any of them fail electronically. There is one portable in Australia right now and the guy brings it to him on world wide trips (so he says).

and goldenfranko sorry about hijacking your thread. Hey Turbo thanks for the equivalent screens. I will take a look at them next time I need to buy a 5" screen.
