Anyone got thoughts about a logo banner for me?

Post by bacteria »

Over the next weeks I will be working hard on getting a website running to show my modding projects and step-by-step guides of WIP; it will be ongoing and will cover many console systems (as you probably know from my thread in the N64 section) and will take many months to complete.

I have some ideas for artwork and a logo banner incorporating my handle "Bacteria" of course, although I haven't done anything yet as I am concentrating on my project at the moment; I was wondering if any of you guys fancy playing with your graphics programs and posting suggestions of some nice designs? (still images or .gif files)? I am interested to see what the creative minds out there come out with...

If I really like one I might use it on my site.

I thought this might be a fun topic for people to show their skills.

For the header background, use a faded pattern that looks like either Conway's Game of Life or another petri dish simulator. 8)

Can you give me an idea of what you'd like?

These are my skills: http://nimronkitel.deviantart.com/

If you want to view something that I have set up as "Mature 18+", let me know, and I'll link you a bypassed URL. There aren't many, but they are there none-the-less.

"laser" looks an interesting foundation as a backdrop for part of a logo, although the colours are muted on the pic.

Not sure on style, got some ideas about multicoloured thin horizontal lines but that might look naff, or abstract quilting backdrop in solid colours; no idea really; sort of thing I would get my playing with the textures and distortions in a graphics package. I could get my creative juices running but wondered about other's ideas. I am looking for something professional but "funky" with style. The way a webpage looks can make or break it.

No bicostp, I was expecting someone to give the petri disk gag or virus/mucus gag, that isn't what I had in mind!

Aww... :(

At least dig around some free font sites for different typefaces. Arial and Times New Roman have been done to death. There's a whole bunch (with preview images) on this Homestar Runner fan website. (Hey, I've found a few useful ones there, and all their links go to font catalogs...)

Well, I can do one for you. Can you just give your desired color scheme and the size? I'll try and make one up outa my head, and just let you tell me what to change on it.

HBN - I just spent a few minutes exploring fractals, decided against it. Not "funky".

ghosstt - Interested to see your thoughts. Below might give you an idea of the sort of thing in my mind?

I decided to type "abstract" into Google images, page 8 got this pic (actually of a woolly case for a mobile phone, which I trimmed).

Not sure if "this is me" but something I russled up - growing on me, quite like it - have you better ideas??

Look at all the fuzzy germs! Its actually quite neat.

So you like the look of a photo, rather than something rendered?
