Ok I have a 96 buck gift card to Best Buy. I am spending 40 of it on a 360 VGA cable but what should I spend the rest on? I have a additional 50 if needed.

Yea,

For the rest of your cash. You said your getting a 360 cable. Get some 360 games. Perhaps you could find a used HD-DVD 360 drive and get some HD-DVDs. They are going to be worth something in a few years or so like Laserdiscs.

I know I sound old saying "sock away your extra cash", but seriously, save it. You might need the money someday. (Plus if you save up enough you can buy something big, fun, and expensive instead of a bunch of cheap crap.

I agree with bicostp. Save it until you find something that you need. If you stick to the needs instead of the wants you'll find your money goes a lot farther.

One word of advice, write down on a calendar or something when it expires. I've wasted a few gift cards by not using them by the expiry date.

I would save it for something big but its bestbuy so I think stuff would be cheaper elsewhere eve without this card. I would get that VGA cable you guys linked to but I heard even most of the other third part VGA cables aren't the best quality.

Yeah, as far as the VGA cable goes, I'd go with the official Microsoft one, which you can find for $35 online. The $15 ones may be cheap, but they're not as well shielded and are subject to more interference. I personally don't mind paying extra, but the cable you get is up to you.

If it's only $50, really that's close to a new 360 game, so if you wanted to you could buy GTA4. Other then that, about the only thing I'd buy from Best Buy are movies.
