So after looking at everyone's stuff for a while I finally decided to give this a try...

So I went to the local vintage games store and picked up a Yobo FC and a Intec 5" Gamecube screen as well as a copy of Blades of Steel since all my NES games are back home. So I play a game of Blades of Steel and then promptly get to disassembly. Once I get the screen apart I started trying to identify wires...





But by the time I finally got it figured (I think...) out I believe I have fried the screen. The power LED indicator comes on but it isnt very bright and the screen is black... I dont know what kind of power it needs, any suggestions??

Well anyway so I think I have a fried screen so I have begun looking for a replacement, so I was looking at one of these..

But I am a little scared away because I guess the non-TFT is no good???

Well I'll probably work on again this weekend, so I have a couple questions right now, how do I determine what the screen needs ie the INTEC gamecube screen and then I have found the schematic for the YOBO FC NOAC but am still a little shaky as to what goes where so I'm thinking I am going to need a little help there as well.

First of all, what are you using for a power supply to the screen? What's the voltage, etc?

Secondly, it looks pretty straightforward to me. The connector with two wires (yellow/black) is your video and video ground connections. The yellow wire can get soldered to the inner part of the video RCA on the Yobo. The ground can get soldered to the shell.

The three wire connector (red/white/black) is stereo audio with a ground. Before my NESclone fell apart, I was going to run the same audio to both the red and the white. It gives a nice, rich sound. Both those wires can go to the inner part of the audio RCA. That black wire can go to the shell of that RCA.

I told him this before, he said it wasn't it though.

Also, using 2 speakers will reduce the sound coming out of each, unless you get a sound amp

The wires in the second picture lead to the gamecube analog av out.



and I dont know what the wires are, Im guessing the group of three is like you both said audio right left and ground and the other is video w/ground?

So here's an update, I went to Radio Shack and picked up a 12v battery for my multimeter so I can actually get some hard numbers now, I also picked up a 4AA batter holder w/ on off and leads. So I attached that to the 5v input on the main board. I took some readings and when running off of the dc plug at the plug i am getting 13.6 volts, and 5.02 at the input to the main board. When running with the battery pack im getting 4.75 at the input. So is that 4.75 going to be ok? Also Im pretty certain the screen is fried so I am going to go pick up another one, I know the game shop has a hip gear for a gamecube so from what I've resarched here is seems like the hip gear ideally needs 7 volts but will run all the way down to 5 volts so will my battery set up work or am I going to need something more powerful?

Ok so I went out and got the hip gear screen and two AA battery mount to get the voltage up to 7.2... about an hour of disassembly and rewiring later...

ITS ALIVE!!!



of course I think its going to need an audio amp because its extremely quite
