What is the smallest I could get the genesis guts?
I would like to know If I could get a genisis small enough to fit in a gameboy.

I'm not sure if you've seen this before. It was made by the same guy who made the NES in a NES Cart. LINK

Now as for the size of a genesis, CTF's which uses a Genesis 3, is about 4.5 almost 5 inches, across and wide. As for the deep.... I don't remember but likely 1.5 to 2 inches.

Yeah, my portable's about as small as you can go with a Genesis 3; while they're pretty small, they definitely won't fit in a Gameboy. Even some of the later Genesis clones with cart slots are still too hefty to be crammed that small. The only GOAC that can feasibly fit is the Radica, but it's hellacious to work with. I tried to solder a cart slot to two of them, and neither would work out.
Even the most experienced of portablizers have had serious problems with these things, including G-Force, who tried to fit a Genesis into a GameGear. So I suppose it could be done, but it'll be no easy road!
