Multicart help needed

Post by WaverBoy »

I'm new here, so a big HELLO to all you NES fans!

I'm dying to either somehow make or get my hands on an NES multicart. I know they seem to be pretty hard to find, but if anyone around here has come up with some device that you can plug a cartridge into, hook up to a computer, put NES roms onto it, and presto, Multicart, that would be fantastic...might anyone be able to suggest a viable solution?

I've been looking for these too. I did find a few (Didn't buy though) by typing in "& in 1 NES".

Are you guys serious!! Have you never heard of the PowerPak? They are currently unavailable, but can be bought from here.

Basically, you load your roms onto a CF card and use it in your genuine nes. You can test homebrew and nsf files on true hardware without hacking donor carts.

You just have to check back often. Every once in a while they become available. He only makes them in limited quantities and they sell out very fast.

There is also another company that you should check with often. They make carts for GBA I believe and are working on a NES cart. Here is a link the for forum post. CLICK

The speculation on this upcoming flash cart doesn't sound too good...

I think I'll keep checking back on that PowerPak.

Power Pak = way too much.

The point of the thing is to save money, not spend it.

No, actually, the point is to play games that it isn't feasibly possible to play otherwise. There are so many "rare" roms available which would cost tens of thousands if you had the actual cart. This way, not only can you play the game, but you don't have to play on an emulator.

Also, anyone who is interested in making games for the NES can do so using the powerpak. I think $135 is a good price. I guarantee that if it was $200 it would still sell out within days of becoming available.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say multicarts. Are you talking about the superjoy III carts or what? I've never seen a "cheap" multicart before.
